Program Director & Varsity Women's Coach, Travis Hall After graduating with a degree from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC (and a minor in Coaching Education), Travis decided that his rowing days couldn't be over so soon, and began pursuing a career in coaching. Over the past year, Travis was the Men's Novice Coach at Penn State, leading his crew to strong finishes at the Neuwiler Plate, Murphy Cup and Dad Vail regattas and medals at the West Virginia Governor's Cup regatta, as well as contributing to the points championship and the Governor's Cup heading to State College. In his spare time, Travis enjoys sculling, cycling and watching Tar Heel sports. Over the past summer, he helped lead a cross-country cycling trip with the organization Bike & Build after completing the trek with the same organization in 2008. Over the past three years, he has cycled through 18 states and totaled around 10,000 miles in the saddle. Nathan enjoyed the change of focus and pace with the masters rowers, and learned to appreciate the finer points of dodging scullers, nun bouys, and barges on the Potomac at o-dark-thirty while leading his ACR crews to medals at regattas both far and wide. Then during the fall of 2007 while continuing to coach at ACR, Nathan became the Head Coach of Fairfax High School, growing and leading the program to many victories. At the completion of the season, one of his Fairfax boats was even voted All Met by the Washington Post.
Nathan became the Head Coach of William and Mary Rowing in the fall of 2008 and has since led William and Mary Rowing to its first Head of the Charles medal and second Dad Vail medal. He also started the William and Mary Rowing High School summer camp, and spearheaded the building of William and Mary's first Boathouse. The 2011-2012 season will be his last at William and Mary, and he hopes to continue W&M's tremendous growth by making for a smooth transition to new leadership. He lives in Williamsburg with his Dr. Wife and their two cute, often misbehaving dogs, and enjoys sculling, biking, and reading in his spare time.
