What a great regatta! The beautiful weather and race course in Oak Ridge, TN allowed for some stiff competition and a fun setting to spend the weekend. We arrived on Friday April 15th to rig our boats and warm up on the water. After a good look at the course, we all became excited and ready for two big days of racing. Saturday morning we arrived at the course and got to racing! Time trials and semis went well, placing our men's pair, women's varsity eight, and novice in B finals and our 1X and novice lightweight men in grand finals. Unfortunately, a wave of influenza hit our team with bad timing. The varsity men's four scratched and left the novice women's eight hesitant to race on Sunday. The next morning, the novice women's eight had to scratch and the women's varsity eight finished 3rd in their finals. Will Meeker in the 1X won bronze in his grand finals and the novice men's four got silver! Overall, a very emotion-filled weekend, and we are glad that everyone still had a good time. What a great way to put our name out there at SIRAs! We are now preparing for a fun Saturday at Rockett's Landing next weekend. Go Tribe!
